Setup Guide

1

Download & Install

Click the download button above, grab the installer for your operating system, and install it like any other program. Takes about 2 minutes.

2

Open Mumble

Launch Mumble. You’ll see a setup wizard the first time. Just click through it – the defaults are fine. Test your microphone if you want.

3

Add Our Server

Click Server → Connect
Click Add New…
Fill in:
Label: Rebellicious (or whatever)
Address: voice.older-gamers.eu
Port: 64738
Username: Pick a name (you can change it later)

4

Connect!

Click OK, then Connect. That’s it. You’re in.

5

Register Your Username (Optional)

Once connected, right-click your username and select Register. This saves your name so nobody else can use it. Not required, but recommended.

💡 Pro Tips for Old Folks

Push-to-Talk vs Voice Activation: Push-to-Talk is cleaner (no background noise), but Voice Activation is easier if you forget to press buttons. You’re 40+, you’ll probably prefer Voice Activation.

Can’t hear anyone? Right-click the speaker icon in Windows system tray → Open Sound Settings → make sure Mumble isn’t muted.

Nobody can hear you? In Mumble, go to Configure → Settings → Audio Input and check your microphone is selected.

Why Mumble Instead of Discord?

Privacy. Discord records everything, sells your data, and changes their terms whenever they feel like it. Mumble is open-source, runs on our server, and doesn’t track anything.

Quality. Mumble was built for low-latency, high-quality voice. It’s what serious gamers and communities have used for 15+ years.

Independence. We run it, we control it, nobody can shut us down or change the rules. That’s the Rebellicious way.

Yeah, it takes 5 minutes to set up instead of clicking a Discord link. But you’re old enough to remember when “plug and play” meant spending 3 hours configuring IRQ settings. You can handle this. 😄

Need Help?

Remember: Everyone was new once. Even Bob, and he can barely find the power button on his PC.
